The weather in this region of the province of Cartago is almost perfect, not too hot, and not too humid. In this region, many archaeological sites have been discovered, the most significant being the National Monument of Guayabo, which dates back to the Pre-Columbian period. Indigenous territories can be found here at the foothills of the Talamanca Cordillera, and the extensive network of private and public protected areas provide this region with an unmatched forest cover.
